Stay Creative in Business

Select one or two ideas, and reflect on how you might incorporate it into your life and work.

1.  Go with your gifts. Find out what you are good at, and love to do, and do it.

2.  Do meaningful work that is in alignment with your values.

3.  Develop your intuition.

4.  Beware of decisions based on fear instead of creativity.

5.  Practice compassion towards yourself and others to transform fear into creativity.

6.  Have fun. If the majority of your work time is not fun, then the hard parts seem unbearable.

7.  Celebrate when you think you are riding the wave, but still keep paddling.

8.  Spend more time exploring the unknown. Practice in small ways each day and the larger risks get easier. For example: try a new food, take a different route to work, wear a new color.

9.  Hire the best and most talented employees.

10. Give yourself and others appreciation. Everyone needs recognition. Be the boss you would like to work for.

11.  Face and learn from the internal and external obstacles you encounter. Obstacles are an inevitable part of the creative process.

12.  Care for yourself. Balance work with play.

13.  Surround yourself with support, i.e., peers, colleagues, friends, coaches.
