Work, Creativity, and Passion
Many of us are at a point in life where our current work situation no longer reflects our values and who we are. Our careers are less meaningful than we would like. In this workshop you will tap into your creativity and passion to explore new paths leading to a more fulfilling professional life, so you may share your special gifts and abilities with the world. This weekend is for you if you feel your career is in need of a fine-tuning or a major overhaul. We will use visual expression, reflective writing, and dialogue to access our heart’s calling.

Finding a Balance; Work and Personal Life
Our days are crowded with too much to do both personally and professionally. Making room for your priorities, while staying true to your purpose and living with integrity, is often a challenge. This workshop will help you clarify your priorities, honor your choices, and find ways to integrate these choices into your personal and professional work. We will use visual expression, reflective writing, and dialogue to explore these themes.

 Making Art of Work
Creative approaches for inspiring you and others to think “outside the box” – ideal for leaders, informal leaders, managers, and supervisors.  "Making Art" and "Work" may initially seem like an odd combination, but using visual expression and reflective writing as a catalyst can enhance what you need in today's work environment:  innovative thinking, conscious decision making, and creative solutions to transition and change. This workshop will help you clarify what it is you need from your work and how it aligns with your core values and purpose.  We will identify what you want more of and less of, and develop strategies for moving toward those goals.

 Moving Through Transition
Job decisions? Empty nest? Relationship change? Retirement?  Regardless of the life change you are experiencing, you owe it to yourself to do more than 'adapt' by using the usual, habitual tools of dealing with change. If your goal is to emerge from a transition with renewed energy, aligned with purpose and connected to what's important, this workshop is for you.  To help you focus on what needs to be addressed, you will be asked to respond to a short survey regarding the strengths, talents and gifts that you bring to a situation.   Time will be set aside during the weekend for an individual consultation as well as personal reflection.  We will use art, imagery, writing and dialogue to engage your creativity and help you get to a higher state of self realization. The process will help you to clarify your priorities, make choices aligned with your purpose and find ways to integrate these choices in moving through the transition.

Making Clear Choices
A model for achieving goals in the workplace, reaching harmony at home and getting what you need out of personal relationships.  Too often our own blind spots plus insufficient feedback conspire to color our assumptions. We create barriers that inhibit achieving intended results. This workshop will help raise the level of awareness of how you make decisions and provide insight into specific actions you might take to improve your effectiveness.   To help you focus on what needs to be addressed, you will be asked to respond to a short survey that will map out your current problem solving methodology.   Time will be set aside during the weekend for an individual consultation as well as personal reflection.  We will use art, imagery, writing and dialogue to engage your creativity and help you get to a higher state of self realization. The process will help you to identify decision traps, strategize about putting supports in place, and improve your mental flexibility and sound judgment.

Revitalizing Creativity in Your Organization
Public and non-profit organizations expecting to thrive in this competitive environment need to operate with a creative edge. Creative ideas and innovative thinking need to be generated and implemented at every level to achieve desired results, yet old habits of doing the same things the same way are hard to break. Formal and informal leaders who attend this workshop will learn skills and processes to build sustainable creative capacity that will positively influence situational analysis and decision making.

Tools for Rejuvenating Talent
Tapping into talent is essential to a fulfilling career and is the basis for authentic leadership. In this workshop, attendees will experience, first hand, a tool that can be used with employees and managers to help them consciously access their talents and be more creative, innovative, and productive. During this interactive session, you will have an opportunity to develop visual imagery- a skill that many great inventors and scientists have used to spark their discoveries. Using simple writing and drawing, you will be able to tap into symbols and images about 1) what’s important and 2) what’s in your way. Utilizing methods applied to many of the country’s top corporations, workshop leaders will bring you to new levels of thought regarding your untapped ability. Also, discover how much this approach can unleash hidden talent in your organization. No experience in art is necessary!

Gateways to Creativity
Leading organizational transformation and living an authentic life in the midst of rapid change requires vision, courage, balance and honesty. Our five-day workshop, Gateways to Creativity, provides an opportunity to release limiting habits; choose greater value and integrity in your personal and professional life; envision new choices and make them a reality; distinguish between survival-based (reactive) choices and creativity-based (proactive) choices to make better decisions.
During the workshop, we explore the forces and decisions that produce your life. Using visual expression, reflection, writing, and group dialogue, we provoke thoughtful engagement with your decision-making patterns and priorities. You will gain a renewed sense of commitment, leadership and integrity in all aspects of your life. Gateways is designed for individuals in formal and informal leadership roles who want to develop their full creativity and bring it on bear upon the things they care about supporting and changing. No previous art experience is necessary.

Getting Acquainted with Art Therapy
Through art experience, media presentations and discussion, you will be exposed to the inherent healing capacity of art therapy and its place in social service, medical, and educational settings.

Applications of Art Therapy
In this workshop, you will learn practical art therapy techniques to enhance personal growth for individuals and groups in a variety of settings; to utilize art-making as a focusing technique to express feelings; and to foster a safe environment that encourages creative expression.

Exploring Art Materials
In this practical and playful workshop, you will explore the dynamic qualities of art materials, such as paint, clay and cloth.  You will be able to apply these learnings in therapeutic and personal growth settings, and savor the sheer joy of creativity.

Art and the Power of Transformation
When art experiences transcend the habitual inner judge, authentic images and metaphors can be portrayed from deep within the individual's soul.  Using specific art therapy techniques, with paint as the medium, you will learn to apply a three-step process of transformation and healing using art therapy with yourself and with others.  You will be able to identify the major blocks that inhibit creativity and healing, and transform them into powerful, honest images and experiences.

 Art, Creativity and Healing
In this workshop, you will learn how essential love and self-love are to the process of healing; how art and creativity are vital forms of expressing self-love; and how to facilitate the healing process through the use of art therapy experiences.

Art Therapy: A Bridge to Cultural, Racial & Gender Differences
In this workshop, you will use Symbol Drawing, a dynamic process of personal expression and transformation developed by the instructor, to bridge differences.  You will learn techniques to facilitate and support individuals and groups in honoring their uniqueness and differences; learn to bridge differences through art; contact aspects of yourself that are whole and healthy, fearless and loving; and transform outmoded patterns into inclusive and effective ways of being with others who are different.

Art Therapy and the Dynamics of Oppression and Liberation
In this powerful, experiential workshop, you will learn about the dynamics of oppression and their manifestations in personal, social and professional realms; use art-making and art therapy processes to recognize and understand the implications of oppression dynamics; create an action plan to dismantle oppression dynamics in your own life; and learn simple effective skills to empower yourself and others to transform oppression dynamics.

Drawing from Within: A Sense of Self
The Self we will be exploring, using the creative processes of drawing, painting and collage, is that larger, deeper, finer Self which we all aspire to become.  The elements of this Self already reside within.  This workshop will make evident, and thus celebrate, this Self.

Drawing from Within: Inner Motivation as the Source of Creativity
In this workshop, you will learn the importance of inner motivation in creativity, how to touch your own creative source, and appropriate techniques for facilitating the creative process in others in a variety of settings.

Drawing the Family Myth
In this workshop, you will learn to use art therapy to recognize family myths, value the creative childhood experiences, and develop self-esteem by transcending family myth.

Drawing Upon Nature
We live in an awe-inspiring world full of light and shadow, alive with movement and pattern.  Too often we are unaware of our partnership in this vibrant cosmic dance.  In this workshop, you will explore ways of building visual, expressive bridges between the life forces pulsating through Nature, and through your own inner self.

Healing Through Mandala Drawing
Mandalas are universal symbols for healing and integration.  This workshop is inspired by the Navaho and Tibetan mandala rituals.  Through structured experiences you will create a mandala to enhance your personal development, and learn how to use mandala-making in therapeutic, educational, and medical settings with groups and individuals.

Images of the Inner Self
Symbolic images spring naturally from the unconscious.  When we learn to access and utilize our own symbolic messages, we can create fuller and richer lives.  You will learn Dr. Cuéllar's Symbol Drawing approach and its applications in therapeutic and educational situations, career choices and life transitions; and in facilitating the transformational process for yourself and others in other areas of problem solving.

Managing Creativity
This workshop focuses on the different elements that positively or negatively influence creative behavior.  You will learn to identify environments that are conducive to fostering the creative process, and to manage creative behavior in yourself and others.

Path of the Creator

The intent of this workshop is two-fold: first, to bring into conscious awareness your personal journey on the path of creativity; and second, to learn to embrace and live in the grace of your true nature's guidelines as a way to liberate the creative self.

Using Art for Recovery from Abuse
Through guided art experiences and discussion, you will learn ways to use art and creative expression as a healing approach with children, adolescents, and adults recovering from physical, sexual, and/or emotional abuse.  This workshop is for people in the helping professions.

Sacred Art, Sacred Places
Held in Oaxaca, Mexico, this workshop is a journey through art-making into ancient and sacred places. It is an opportunity to honor, through the creation of art works, our primordial and contemporary authentic Selves, with fullness and dignity.  Join your own creative aspirations with supportive others in a place where the sacred and the artistic have inspired each other for millennia.  Our encounters with Mexican arts, history, archeology and museums will provide an inspiring context for our own creative work in such media as drawing, painting, and journals.

Art as Therapy in the Classroom
This workshop is designed for educators and others in the helping and healing professions who wish to integrate art as a therapeutic modality into a classroom, therapy, or medical setting.  Through art experiences you will learn ways to apply fundamental art therapy principles in various settings; how to foster a safe environment to encourage creative expression; how to create group and individual art experiences; how to use art to develop skills, enhance self-image, and stimulate creativity; and how to explore art as the creative language of children.
